sitting at the back of our minds. Citizens have done their part in voting, now it’s the Liberal Party's job to do theirs. So why a Liberal government? I think the majority of Canadians took an “anti-Harper” standpoint when coming into this election, and voted with whatever non-Conservative party they thought was most likely to win the most seats in parliament.
Though it may not have been most important to some citizens, it was apparent from the debates and campaigns that economy was the most focused upon issue. It by far dominated the other issues like healthcare and the environment, and was most talked about by most candidates.
The cards have been dealt, we have a Liberal majority government with Justin Trudeau as prime minister, and the Conservatives as the opposition. No one knows for sure what Canada’s future will hold, but we can all look at it as a fresh start.
