The Conservative Party of Canada (Conservatives) was formed in 2003 when the Tories, and the Alliance parties united into one party, forming the Conservative Party of Canada. The conservatives became official opposition in 2006, when they formed government, and Steven Harper became the prime minister. He was re-elected in 2008 and then in 2011. Steven Harper is the current leader of the Conservatives, and is 56 years old. |

COST OF LIVING
- Spending 2.3 billion per year to provide affordable housing to all citizens.
- Provide up to 29% tax relief for service club members.
ECONOMY AND INFRASTRUCTURE

- Ratifying and Implementing the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement.
- Investing 20 million dollars in Canada's lobster industry.
- Providing up to five thousand dollars for a new or better job through the Canada Job Grant program.
- Extending the 15% Mineral Exploration Tax Credit for at least three extra years.
- Spending 1 billion dollars on the automotive industry in Canada over ten years.
- Investing 750 million in public transit over two years, followed by 1 billion dollars a year in the new Public Transit Fund.
ENVIRONMENT
- Committing to reducing Canada's carbon emissions to 30% below the levels in 2005 before the year 2030.
